Capital-E announces that Rudi Severijns has joined the team as fourth partner.
Capital-E, an early stage venture fund focusing exclusively on
'enabling micro-electronics', announces that Rudi Severijns has joined
the team as fourth partner. Rudi comes from GIMV, where he was an
executive investment manager in the ICT group since 2000. Recent
investments include CoreOptics (Germany/US) and Virtensys (UK).
Beside the international VC experience, Rudi brings a wealth of
industry and technology expertise as well as business development
skills to Capital-E. Prior to joining GIMV, Rudi worked for more than
11 years at Siemens (ICT division) in R&D, product marketing and
business management. He has held positions in Belgium as well as on a
corporate level in Germany, travelling and working throughout Europe,
US and Asia. Rudi started his career in 1986 within the Applied
Research Labs of Philips in the Netherlands.
"I'm very excited to join the Capital-E team" said Rudi Severijns. "I
strongly believe in its unique and dedicated approach. The relation to
IMEC itself as well as the access to their leading industry partners
provide a strong foundation for building successful ventures".
"The founding team is very pleased as well to have Rudi on board. He
brings deep sector knowledge and a vast relation network to the table.
Also I have worked many years with Rudi while at GIMV and appreciate
him very much, both on a professional and personal level" commented
Marc Wachsmuth, co-founder of Capital-E.
This latest appointment follows the recent announcement of Capital-E
that it successfully completed its second closing, bringing the total
capital commitments for its first time fund up.
